The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs has completed a new 200,000 square foot, 332-bed nursing home in Menlo Park, New Jersey. The facility has a residential scale, enhanced through the use of pitched roofs, open courts, and an ‘Arts and Crafts’ design motif. The site has been developed into a landscaped, park-like setting. The project includes five long-term care units and one special needs unit for Alzheimer's patients. One ancillary facility includes inpatient physical therapy, outpatient day care, patient programs and full dining and maintenance facilities.  Each bed unit wing is arranged around a large open court, and four of the six units have direct, controlled access to the courts.
