Mount Sinai Queens has served the communities of western Queens for more than 100 years. 
The current configuration of the hospital combined with the same physical exterior have made it a considerable challenge for the Hospital to present a convincing new face and image to the community.

This new hospital building and all associated renovations presents a significant new chapter for Mount Sinai Queens.  It is intended to be a catalyst for transforming the complexity and scope of medical care offered to the residents of Queens.  The goals of this project are to make a dramatic architectural statement of a high tech, sophisticated, modern hospital.  It should send a clear and convincing statement that this is the NEW Mount Sinai Queens.  Yet, it also needs to integrate seamlessly with the existing physical facilities, maximizing efficiency for patient and staff movement and activities.  It should embrace patient-centered care, be respectful of patient privacy and support family participation. The building must be a showcase for the latest technology while offering a healing and holistic environment that supports a patient’s physical and spiritual recovery.
