NK Architects was engaged by Princeton University to update the University’s
Accessibility map which had not been updated professionally in more than a decade.
The map serves as a tool for designers working on campus, providing a full picture
of the status of accessible environs. The map also serves as a guide for people with
accessible needs with respect to campus navigation. NK surveyed over 190 buildings
and all exterior site pathways to record the status of accessible passage and accessible
features.
Work on this campus map has led to NK’s participation in the revisions to Campus
Design Standards with respect to handicap accessibility.
