Katie Johnson

Katie believes that architects have a unique opportunity to make a positive change in people’s lives, our communities, and in our society. With this belief fueling her passion for design, she is excited to begin her architectural career with NK Architects.

A recent graduate from Pennsylvania State University’s Bachelor of Architecture program, Katie was a member of the Schreyer Honors College and earned minors in Architectural History and Art History, and also extensively studied economics and Italian language and culture. She received an honorable mention for her 5th year architectural design thesis, which addressed the need for farm worker housing in Pennsylvania by exploring the architectural possibilities of mushroom-based building materials.

Katie is pursuing architectural licensure and recently moved to Morristown. A multi-instrumentalist and singer, she loves performing and listening to all kinds of music. She enjoys cooking and gardening, hiking and kayaking, drawing, and is always up for a visit to an art museum! Katie serves on the Board of Governors at Newark Academy (‘11) and she is also the proud owner of the world’s cutest mini beagle.
