High-Rise Mixed-Use Development Wins Planning Approval in Bayonne

The mixed-use Bayonne Bay East development, designed by NK Architects for Boraie Development, has now been granted planning approval from the city of Bayonne, report Jersey Digs and New York YIMBY.

A cornerstone project within the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor — the redevelopment of Bayonne’s former Military Ocean Terminal into a 430-acre mixed-use residential community along the waterfront — Bayonne Bay East will comprise five buildings, 1,250 residential units, 10,000 square feet of retail, two parking garages, and public space including a landscaped park and harborfront promenade.

To create a more dynamic urban place, the residential buildings vary in height and materiality, from 4-over-1 low-rise apartment buildings, to 10-, 12-, and 16-story cast-in-place concrete high-rises with glass and aluminum curtain walls. When complete, the development will offer expansive views across New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline beyond.
