Life Sciences and Engineering Building at NJIT Breaks Ground
NK staff attended the ground breaking of the new Life Sciences and Engineering Building at New Jersey Institute of Technology on Thursday, October 1, 2015. Also in attendance were Dr. Joel S. Bloom, President of NJIT; Dr. Fadi P. Deek, Provost of NJIT; The Honorable Kim Guadagno, Lt. Governor of the State of New Jersey; and other State representatives from the House and Senate.
The Life Sciences and Engineering Building is a 24,500 square foot addition to NJIT’s York Science Center that will house flexibly configured bio-wet lab space to accommodate as many as 50 faculty and student researchers engaged in transdisciplinary team-based research. The building features a focus on interactive spaces, both formal and informal, to engender collaboration and create opportunities for putting 'science on display.' The project also includes renovations to NJIT’s Environmental Sciences Center.
